Meet Brooke

We live in an increasingly overwhelming world that can be very difficult to navigate. Michigan has it's own set of unique hurdles from the unpredictable weather to that pot hole that is just waiting to disrupt your day. My therapeutic viewpoint is to break life down into smaller more manageable steps to help us overcome some of life's challenges. I am trained in EMDR and I pull from therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I use these skills to help my clients build on the strengths and resilience that they already have to move forward in this challenging world. We all have so many tools and strengths that we might not even be aware of that can help us. I firmly believe in unconditional positive regard because everyone needs a safe space to find themselves in this world. I also like to use humor because some times we just need to laugh about the situations we have found ourselves in and find a way to move forward. I started off my education small as well and built a career as a therapist. I went to Northwestern Michigan College for my Associates in pre-psychology graduating in 2009. I transferred to Ferris State University where I completed my Bachelors in Social Work in 2011. I went on to complete my Masters in Clinical Social Work in 2013. I have a broad range of experience in the field from Community Mental Health, Foster Care, a Youth Homeless Shelter, and Private Practice. I live in Traverse City where I enjoy being outside as much as I can. I enjoy traveling and have made several trips abroad. I love gaining an appreciation for the world around us and an understanding of the different cultural views of the people I meet.

Brooke currently accepts BCN, BCBS, Priority Health, Aetna, Meritain, Forest County Potawatomi Insurance and Private Pay.
